Last night RI officials took the notorious romance author,Gemma Halliday, into custody. Suspected in the murder of several secondary characters from the High Heels Mysteries series, an arrest warrant was issued last week. Officials say the author went into deep underground hiding at various Romance Diva Gang hideouts once rumors surfaced she was to be apprehend.

A sting operation was set-up shortly after an undisclosed source notified RI headquarters to Ms. Halliday’s whereabouts.

Ms. Halliday was captured at the RITA Awards at the Romance Writers Of America conference in San Fransisco. As the author was being escorted off the hotel property, she cited that she was innocent of all charges.

No further comment has been made on the author’s behalf.

Our news team has learned Ms. Halliday has entered a “not guilty” plea and bail is set at an undisclosed amount. She will not be released on her own recognizance. Trial is set to begin August 29th.

As a reward, anyone willing to help the author raise bail money will be put into a drawing for signed copy of ALIBI IN HIGH HEELS. The winner will be selected at random August 31st.
