Live from Vacation…

Hey everyone! Hope all is going well with you this wonderful weekend. I am enjoying some time off from a great many things right now but couldn’t resist posting. So you might be wondering what type of topic I have for you…well here it is: Romance is EVERYWHERE!!

Yup, romance followed me on my trip and I’m not talking about how my husband calls me three times a day either. Nope, I tucked two books into my luggage and actually had a little bit of free time to read but that’s not all. A surprise book was sent to me at my mom’s house. Talk about exciting! I was expecting the book, but it had been agreed that it’d be sent once I returned. So imagine my surprise when my mom wakes me up at 9am to tell me I have a package. After looking at her with what has to be the most stupid sleepy look imaginable, I opened the package. Woohoo, a book! It was then my mom’s turn to look funny. I don’t guess she sees many people act so silly over a book and not be drunk. OH well…I LOVE romance novels.

So anyhow, it was then that I thought how much a romance reader depends on their books. They are very important to us…even those spine creasers (thinks Candice Hern hehe).

Strangely though, no one at the airport was reading novels, not even the non-romance types. I thought this odd since typically I can spot at least two or three people reading a romance and at least seven to ten people reading novels in general. Not this time. Nope! They were mostly reading newspapers.

Now your turn…where does your romance follow you? Do you pack a few books for trips? Read at work when the boss isn’t looking? Or do you keep your reading strictly to at home? Give us the dish!

Hope you’re having a lovely weekend! I almost forgot to mention… A huge thank you to Rhonda for such an insightful post! For more information please visit her website.

Haven, I’m glad to read this cheery blog from you in the midst of difficult personal stuff. Also glad to know that romance has followed you via phone lines, airlines, and through the postal system.

I always travel with a book. Can you imagine being stuck in an airplane for hours on end with only the airline magazine and on-air video for entertainment?

My veri word for: Lacey.

If I’m travelling I always have a book with me. Sitting in a train, bus or airplane without one is awful. If I don’t have one with me I always make sure to pick something up at the store (most airports and larger trainstations have them, thank god!)

When I had about 15 minutes ride to work I used to bring a book on the tram. The problem was that it was so short I was always sorely tempted to not get off the tram and just stay on it and continue reading instead of getting off for work ;)

My parents just spent 5 days with me, running around and seeing stuff, but my mom still managed to read 1 romance and I finished the one I was working on and started another.

I (heart) romance, especially on vacation!
