Differences of nature or… My sister is a romantically inclined lunatic

Hey, there. It’s me again, your favorite blogger of all time. I trust you remember me? To be honest it’s been a very long time (let’s face it, it’s been forever!).

This is what younger sisters do. They disturb you when you’re playing with your friends (even when you have really important things to do, such as discuss romance and stuff), they try to make themselves really interesting (lying is the number one rule) and they keep boasting about themselves. (here I almost wrote “nasty little buggers” quoting Wood in the Harry Potter series but I figured you don’t like those books since Hermione and Ron never do anything shall we call it “romantic”?).

Sorry. Two paragraphs and already I messed up my first blog here (lying is rule number one, remember?). That’s what little sisters do. They mess up.

Anyways. I should be writing about writing, right? I didn’t want to tell you but I guess I can’t avoid it. My sister is kinda weird. Not that I don’t love her or anything (you have to love your brothers and sisters I think?), but she is very (I mean VERY) into this whole romance writing thing. And sure, I do like something romantic once in a while, but ALL THE TIME? I don’t think so (this is where Harry Potter comes in). Not only does she read all those romantic thingies, she also writes with these themes in mind. Emily (oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you; Emmie’s my sister) sometimes (prepare yourself for something embarrassing) tries to find actors or models who look like the characters in her books! (why aren’t you laughing? you would never do such a silly thing, right? right!?).

I for one am not weird (hello, of course I’m not!). I’m not a romantic freak. I have for a very long time considered myself as a punk rocker (no bloody poser!). I couldn’t be more normal. Who would think that having too many tickets to two (yeah, TWO) Fall Out Boy concerts is weird? Or singing in front of a mirror? Or hating that the new shoes look too new and not at all as “punk” as they should? Am I right or am I right?

I am so sorry! (I really suck at this, don’t I?). Back to writing. I love writing. My style differs a bit from my sister’s though (mind you, she’ll probably change everything I’ve written here plus remove everything in brackets which is like the whole blog). I’m into writing blogs (this is perhaps when all of you begin to wonder who in hell would read my blog). When I was younger (I’m 21 even though you might have guessed 11) I wanted to be like my sister and write really long stories but I was never able to finish. Once I had “the greatest idea” I soon would have another one or just get fed up with the “perfect” story that actually wasn’t so perfect because after a few pages it all got boring (the story’s fault of course, it had nothing to do with my imagination). Where am I going with this? Well. I guess I shouldn’t be a writer. Maybe a journalist. Certainly not a writer (imagine the writer’s block every two pages!).

All in all, it’s just (another brick in the wall? just kidding!) differences of nature. Or maybe not. My sister is a romantically inclined lunatic. There’s no other answer. Thank you for your time!

Hannah

    The joy of little sisters…

I would just like to clarify that I actually DO read other things than romance. Yes, I read a lot of romance.. but I read other things too *lol*

However, I must admit to being somewhat obsessed about the writing part.. hehe..

I feel like I’m always asking my sister to read my stuff.

    Typical conversation:
E: Can you please read chapter 5 again?
H: Why? I just read it last week.
E: But I made some changes to it. I need to know what you think now.
H: And these changes.. they’re b i g changes.. like.. I’ll actually be able to notice them? There will be a big difference?
    E: *silence*
    H: Right then…

Yes, you ARE obsessed! Did you even read my blog? And yes, I do recall that conversation…or should I say THOSE conversations?

Hannah, welcome to RI! So glad you could join us for the day.

It’s nice that you actually read your sister’s work. Mine doesn’t do “the reading thing”. You’d think reading was something that some nasty cough syrup.

Haven Rich: Thank you very much! It was my pleasure!

I do read my sister’s work from time to time, but sometimes I wish I had more time to do it. She has written a whole novel that I’ve barely started reading. There’s no time for anything when you’re busy with school I guess (except reading boring books you HAVE to read).

Lacey: Why thank you! At least one person thought it was funny! ;)

Hi Hannah~! lol… You are too funny. I love your style.. and style of writing. Has your sister ever tried to write you into one of her books?

    Hannah Says:

Laura: Thank you so much! Being funny is what I do…or…not really. I believe my sister has never planned to write me into her books. I might be too versatile, haha!

Or rather.. I don’t think I could manage to write such an obnoxious little brat :p

LOL you two remind me of me and MY little pest of a little sister. Actually she’s not that bad, but she’s never read anything I’ve written. She and my family heard from my lips i have love scenes in them, and requested that I leave those out, but send them the rest to read. lol. Very straight-laced.

As for me, ask my dh and he’ll tell you, and my co-workers too…that I read NOTHING BUT ROMANCE. I just don’t have an interest in reading anything else, my books are all feel good books.

Thanks for visiting Hannah, you’re a hoot!

That was one funny blog, Hannah, welcome to RI ! You can blog for me anytime, k? lol. This was a lot of fun!

All settled, Emmie? You girls wanna know something else that is not only funny but entirely coincidental? My current heroine’s name is Emily, her younger sister is Hannah. I’m not making this up. I have notes, charts, and two people to prove it and I’ve been working on this story going on a year now…Emmie, I don’t think I knew your sister’s name was Hannah. LOL
This is a very good SIGN!!!

Michelle: Thank you, Michelle! (even though I remind you of your “little pest of a little sister” :S ;))

Isabel: Thank you, thank you! But it’s obvious you just thought our names sounded perfect together when you read this blog yesterday! Nah, just kidding! ;)
