On the trail of fortune…
Adventurous Josephine Hale is determined to live up to her scandalous heritage. With half of a crumbling treasure map that belonged to her grandfather, the legendary pirate, in her possession, the bold and beautiful lady is half-way to a fortune. Unfortunately, the remainder of the map belongs to Stephen Doubleday, Earl of Westman, her family’s sworn enemyand Josie will do anything to get her hands on it…even if it means seducing the handsome rogue.
And a passion beyond dreams
Utterly destitute, Stephen never dreamed a fairy tale about pirate’s treasure would turn out to be truebringing him a possible fortune and a passionate lover. But will joining in this wild, impetuous beauty’s perilous undertaking be the biggest mistake of his life? Or will it lead Stephen and Josie to a treasure far more precious than pirate golda fiery and forever love?
Good Groom Hunting is the delightful second installment in Shana Galen’s praised Misadventures in Matrimony series about four cousins who, as children, form a Spinster’s Club and vow never to marry.
This story focuses on Josephine (Josie) Hale and her quest for adventure, not only to find her grandfather’s treasure, but to seduce and become her enemy’s lover. I absolutely loved Josie! She is such a terrific heroine–one that every girl secretly longs to be at some point in their life. She’s funny and smart, she’s outspoken and brave. In the book she is labeled as “The Unflappable Josephine Hale” and it certainly fits…until she meets Lord Westman…
Stephen Doubleday, Lord Westman, is a tortured hero that is a perfect mix of gentleman and rake. He’s the kind of hero we love to read about. I thoroughly enjoyed watching him try and resist Josie and her outrageous flirting at every turn and it made it all the more wonderful to watch when he finally gave in to her. Josie and Stephen complimented each other perfectly.
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this book! It had everything–romance, action, adventure, hot love scenes and memorable characters. I love this series and the fact that each cousin has their own distinct personality trait, yet they are so close and love each other like sisters. I am eagerly anticipating Maddie’s book (which is scheduled for release in December 2007) and Ashley’s book! Shana Galen has a long and rewarding career ahead of her!
