Halloween plans

Do you find the time of year influences your writing? For me, this month has.

In my WIP it’s the first of a trilogy of heroes who have magical abilities. But recently, in the last chapter I wrote it had the heroine being “spooked”. I can’t help but wonder if this is because it’s so near to Halloween?!?!

Also in my first book that I was writing at the time, it was the week of Christmas. Now, was it just by chance that the hero gave a very meaningful gift to the heroine, or was it just by chance? I also wrote about a Yuletide celebration chance, fate, meant to be, inspiration? You decide.

If I remember correctly we had a chat about this. You wished your hero to give a gift and didn’t know a good reason behind it. And so we figured to use the holiday season as a just cause.

Now as for your character being spooked, that’s all on you babe haha. But I do think we tend to write what is surrounding us at the time. Like when I began The Last Kiss, I started with the first chapter, adding the Prologue later, the weather outside was very dreary and just saddening. The clouds were low and heavy and very depressing. So I added it to set the mood.

Good luck with your spooked character hehe.
