Progress Report

Hello everyone! I had a thought and decided to blog about it. Where are you in your writing as of today? Here’s my most recent info:

I’ve finished two books now, a series. The first book is titled “To Have and To Hold” with the second one called “From This Day Forth”. They’re both set in the highlands of Scotland during the early 1300’s.

As for my next step, I’m….gulp…begins to sweat…REVISING both books now, if I don’t get this done, I’ll never submit any kind of query letter, but just go on writing books and never having any of them published! lol. Or at least, having the HOPE of them being published that is!

I also know what my next writing project is going to be: a trilogy! About three female healers who happen to be best friends who work and live together. Also set in Scotland, but the second book will take place in England, and the third in Ireland.

So, where are you at? And this is for everyone, not just RI ladies. :D

Hmm…getting closer every day to finishing my first WIP. Except yesterday. Had a minor setback involving a little too much Happy at the Happy Hour :-)

I am working on my 4th manuscript, Have a rejection file nearly an inch thick, have sold two short stories, and attend 2 critique groups a week. :)

I’m taking my current WIP apart. The idea for the plot I first started out with has changed enough for me to stop writing and I’m now so involved in research. In order for my idea to work I have to check historical facts. I’m stuck but I hope (actually I know) this is just temporary.

I have about ten books on just the regency era and late 1700’s to early 1800’s history and such that I’m wading through right now. It’s quite overwhelming.

It’s encouraging to read you ladies are done or close to being done with your books.
Congrats, Michelle on two books in less than a year! Now revisions…

Emily, congrats on your own MS.

Lacey ~ You’re almost there and an early congrats to you too!

April ~ Hang in there, one of these days sweetie, you’ll get “the call”. Three books completed and one more on the way! Awesome!

You ladies are an inspiration to me :)

OH, never fear…I always have fun :-) I hope you’re able to jump back into writing soon. I know how that is! Taking the WIP apart and putting it back together is VERY frustrating. I have totally been there. Good luck!

I just finished the big revisions round on my second MS (Regency Historical), and now just have to read it through again for obvious errors and typos. (And if I see something that can be improved, then of course I’ll do that too.. and as I’m sure you all know; there’s always room for improvement!)

At the same time I’ve started plotting my next novel (still regency historical), and as soon as I’m done proofreading I will be writing the synopsis and queries for both the first and second MS, and start collecting rejection letters :)
Best of luck to everyone on their current projects :)
    Emily
