Getting to know Andrea…

Here’s a little more about me…as interviewed by April:

April: What made you start writing?
Andrea: Well, I’ve had ideas in my head for awhile, but it wasn’t until I started chatting with two other aspiring writers that I actually started to write.

April: Are you actively querying and submitting?
Andrea: No, I don’t want to until at least I finish my WIP.

April: What three authors inspire you most?
Andrea: Julia Quinn, Jenna Petersen and Lisa Kleypas…why? ~I love Julia Quinn’s writing voice…she is very romantic, witty and humorous. Her style of writing is my favorite. ~Jenna Petersen is such a giving person…she is always willing to help and answer questions for anyone at anytime. Plus, she always gives great advice. ~And Lisa Kleypas has overcome a huge tragedy in her life and pressed on to become one of the most popular romance writers of our time.

April: What are you currently working on?
Andrea: I am currently working on my very first MS…it’s a Regency set historical romance. My heroine, Mia, is a young woman with a secret, and for that reason is hesitant to come to London to be a companion to her cousin who is making her debut. My hero, Nick, is a duke that came into his title before he was ready and has since had to improve the family name that his drunkard father soiled. Nick is instantly smitten, but Mia wants only friendship or possibly risks exposing her secret.

April: Which is your favorite genre to read?
Andrea: Regency & Victorian set historicals.

April: What do you feel are your strengths? Plot? Characterization, etc.?
Andrea: Well, I don’t really know as I’ve only written a prologue and three chapters…ask me again in about 6 months. :)

April: Do you outline or write by the seat of your pants?
Andrea: I have a pretty good outline for my current WIP, but I fill in the gaps by the seat of my pants. It also helps when my CPs and I have brainstorming sessions. Those are so fun!

April: Describe your favorite writing place, your “nest.”
Andrea: I bought a new desk, so hopefully it will be my new nest. I have all of my research and reference books at hand. It’s in my bedroom right next to a window so I can gaze at my beautiful flowers for inspiration. :)

April: Do you like clinch covers, or more generic ones, and why?
Andrea: Honestly, it doesn’t matter to me. I like a clinch scene if it’s tastefully done, like Jenna Petersen’s Scandalous. I also like the look of Julia Quinn’s latest ones…very romantic looking with a stepback. So, I guess I like both…but it’s what’s inside that counts! ;)

April: What’s your favorite movie?
Andrea: Rear Window…I love Alfred Hitchcock! Plus, I love Grace Kelly and Jimmy Stewart is one of my favorite actors.

Any more questions??? Bring ‘em on! :)

You too should practice your autograph siggy.
