Suggestions for a Happy New Year!
Well ladies, here’s my “list” for a recipe of a good new year.
A) Have food, and lots of it. Favorite goodies, homemade deserts, your preference of course. This is the one night you can really indulge yourself, so suck it up! No worries about being a pig, cause there’s always the next day to have the belly ache. What are some of your favorites? I love homemade pumpkin pie, Oreos with milk, Ritz crackers with cheese, and many others.
B) Bring on the drinks! I have to admit, I’ve never drunk wine, champagne, or hard liqour before. I had a Heinekin and discovered what “bitter beer face” really is. YUCK! (Sorry to all Heinekin fans out there.) I love wine coolers, but haven’t drunk in quite a while. Part of my religious background, and just found others things to drink I enjoy. I love: Sparkling Burgundy, Sparkling apple cider, sparkling fletcher (Apple cranberry). So I can joke around “I have a glass of Burgundy with my book.” lol.
C) Friends, family, or being by yourself. This year, it’s just going to be me, dh, and our 2 sons at home. Other years we’ve had friends over, and still other years we’ve had family with us. In the least it’s a time to remember those that have passed on, or like the song says “Should old aquaintance be forgot…” Sadly, I have friends from school, I just haven’t seen or been in contact with in years. I think we all might have this problem. Don’t get discouraged by it though, and hold the friendships you have right now dear to your heart. Let them, and your family know of your love for them.
So however you spend you new year, make it happy, safe, fun and look forward for good things to come of it in 2006!
If your not a big drinker you might want to stick with the fun fruity sweet drinks. I personally like these, cant stand beer, and enjoy making them.
Here is a good sweet drink if you dont mind milk.
Bit-O-Honey:
In a goblet(or at least 8oz glass) add ice.
In thirds (this means three equal parts, should end in filling your glass)pour Bailey’s Irish Cream, milk and Buttershots(yes it is a booze lol)
Mix all of the above by putting it in a shaker glass, then pour over ice. If you prefer you can add the ice to the shaker glass, its a personal option.
Then sit back and drink and relax hehe.
BTW I know what I’m talkin about cause I use to be a bartender.
January 2nd, 2006 at 3:54 pmWow, Michelle thank you for all your suggestions. Well we greeted the last day of 2005 in the dark. It wasn’t until 7:00pm that the power came back on, and we left to have dinner in a nearby city. We didn’t really do much after that. We came home, watched TV and welcomed the New Year 2006 at home.

I’m printing your recipe because it sounds absolutely yummy. Especially since I’ve been craving Bailey’s Irish Cream since last Saturday night.
