The holidays and your WIP
I know we’re all busy this time of the year, running around (that’s me) last minute trying to find that one last gift. Or decorating the house, shopping for food and wrapping presents etc. I wonder if any you actually set aside time to write during this hectic time. I’m experiencing some serious writer’s block, there’s this nervous energy surrounding the holiday season that just doesn’t let me concentrate. Sure I’ve schedule time to write but when I sit down to do it I just can’t do it. My mind starts to wonder far away from the story I’m attempting to tell and one hour later all I have is a blank screen. So you’re probably wondering what do I do during that whole hour?! Nothing. Ok so I go online, check email, I do some virtual window shopping, then look up meanings for my characters’ names, feed the cat, clean the cat’s litterbox, grab something to eat and then…*puff* an hour has gone by. All the ideas I had, the plans I’d made for the chapter are yet to be written, the blank screen has won again.
How you do keep your sanity during the holidays, do you actually attempt to write? How do you stay connected to your WIP when things are crazy? Or do you give yourself a vacation from writing?
Happy Holidays everyone!
Personally, I think you should take a break, Isabel! Christmas is probably the only time of the year where you can take time off work and not feel bad about it!
Perhaps having fun over Christmas will leave you inspired in the New Year! Just IMHO. Merry Christmas!

Again thanks for your support.
